I am writing on behalf of my mother, Alejandra Reyes. She is also turning 100 this year. She was born in Mexico on December 20, 1926. She moved to the United States in 1957 and settled in Chicago where she married my father. Together they raised four children there. In the 1980’s three of their children moved to Miami. Eventually, they joined their children in Miami.

My mom’s first time visiting the Biltmore Hotel was in 1990 for brunch on Mother’s Day. It was a very special day because it was the first time in several years that she had been able to spend Mother’s Day with her four children. Attached is a photograph of us in the courtyard. She has not been back to the Biltmore Hotel since then, other than to drive by it and show it off to friends and family when they come to visit. The other day we were driving by the hotel and saw that it was also turning 100 this year. I took a photograph of her in front of the hotel and promised to take her this year. When I read that they were giving away two free nights, I had to submit her name. She would be ecstatic if she were to win. What an amazing way to celebrate her 100th birthday.
